Berkeley College President Michael J. Smith is one of 53 esteemed leaders of New Jersey organizations, over the age of 60, selected by the business publication NJBIZ for exemplary contributions, success, and leadership as a 2021 NJBIZ Icon. Smith’s 25-year career at Berkeley College and BES, (formerly Berkeley Educational Services, Inc.) and professional accomplishments in finance, higher education, and public service over nearly four decades, reflect the many facets of his talents.
In his message to the Berkeley College community, Chairman Kevin L. Luing said, “Michael truly represents Berkeley’s No. 1 principle that the student always comes first.”
Media enterprises like NJBIZ and City & State New York, which recently named Smith to the Higher Education Power 100 list, recognize leaders for their impact.
